SAFE ENVIRONMENTS GUIDELINES
The Diocese of Fall River recognizes that criminal history record checks (CORI; Criminal Offender Record Information) are a critical element in ensuring the safety of minors and vulnerable adults and protecting them from inappropriate actions or behaviors of others. Therefore, all volunteers and personnel of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dartmouth, MA will be required to undergo the relevant state Criminal History Record Checks and complete a Safe Environment Training Session on-line through CMGConnect.
ALL NEW ADULT VOLUNTEERS:
1) Must complete a CORI Acknowledgement Form
2) Provide a clear copy of a valid driver’s license or valid government photo ID
3) Complete the online Safe Environment training online at https://fallriver.cmgconnect.org/. The training includes:
a) Three segments of Safe Haven videos and questions;
b) Mandatory Reporting Guide and acknowledgments;
c) 2020 Code of Conduct;
d) Three Question to be answered acknowledging responsibilities of the Code of Conduct;
e) 51A online Training, referencing site which will lead individual to individual mandated training.
After completion of the Training, the volunteer must download and print out the training certificate which will display their name and the date of training. Please note that the name on the certificate must be consistent with the photo ID. The CORI Form, signed Code of Conduct, Training Certificate and photo ID will be turned into the Parish Faith Formation so that the Site Administrator can send them to the Diocesean Office of Safe Environment to be processed.
4) Every Volunteer each year must renew a CORI and Sign a Code of Conduct along with providing a photocopy of photo ID. These will be returned to the site administrator and sent to the Diocesan Office of Safe Environment to be processed. You will be contacted by the Site Administrator one month before your CORI expires to complete the renewal.
Minors (under the age of 18) who volunteer: will be required to sign a Diocesan Youth Code of Condut together with a parent/guardian signature each year they are employed or volunteer and return it to the Site Administrator to sent to the Office of Safe Environment to be processed.
From time to time revisions may be established by the OSE and updated accordingly.
