Well, after a hectic week of running around I was able to take Thursday and Friday off. The weather on Thursday was gray and dreary. Yes, I know that it is October but that type of weather needs to stay away until November and let us all enjoy the glorious days of October. I did, however, manage to make a bit of sunshine with some dear friends last night as we took advantage of a wonderful deal at a restaurant in Brewster, Massachusetts called “Chillingsworth.” Monday-Friday they offer a 3 course, pre-fixe menu that affords the diners the opportunity to enjoy some of the items that are in the menu at a fraction of the cost—the entree options are truly spectacular—for example, crab crepe stuffed with fresh Delaware crab with sauteed shrimp; bistro steak, cooked to order, served with the best pomme frittes (I think that they might be fried in duck/goose fat—-yummy!) and even a lovely bolognese sauce (of course, not as good as mine) with fresh parpadelle. I could go on and on. The appetizers are equally as scrumptious and the dessert options are to die for—the sticky toffee pudding with bring tears to yours eyes….that is how good it is. Hungry? Check it out. 3 courses for $25! Not bad. The only caveat is that you have to have your order in the kitchen by 6PM. Friday was a day of rest and relaxation. I will have to remember this as I resume a hectic pace tomorrow and Sunday before Monday morning arrives. Have a good weekend!
